KENOSHA, Wis. — What locals call The Hill lives up to its name in stature. The steep, mammoth mound across the street from Bradford High is a seasonal attraction, one of its two sides ideal for snow sledding. The east side is less hospitable; it has a harrowing decline toward a pond beside which a red-lettered sign warns: “DANGER. THIN ICE.”
Seasons change. Temperatures warm. Snow melts.
Eventually, the east side has its day.
